Stars of London's West End perform an evening of Abba

When: 16 August, 5:30pm to 9:30pm

Where: Essex County Cricket Club, The Cloud County Ground, New Writtle Street, Chelmsford, CM2 0PG

What is it: A sensational outdoor performance with dazzling vocals and a live band at this fantastic tribute evening.

Cost: Adult standing - £15.00 per ticket, Adult seated - £20.00 per ticket

Bubble Rush

When: Sunday 17 August, 10am

Where: Chelmsford City Racecourse, Chelmsford,CM3 1QP

What is it: Family friendly event open to all whether you sprint, stroll or push a buggy through the bubbles. Also enjoy live entertainment, food stalls, face painting, and more.

Cost: Adult £16,50 per ticket. Child £12.00 for under 16s per ticket.

Family Fun Day (Hutton Road, Shenfield

What is it: Free funfair rides, arts and crafts and family-friendly activities.

The Ultimate Classic Rock Show

When: 15 August, 11am to 4pm

Where: Cliffs Pavilion, Station Road, Southend, SS0 7RAWhat is it: Dust off your air guitars! Classic rock anthems from Eric Clapton, Led Zeppelin, Queen, Pink Floyd, ELO, Deep Purple, Free, AC/DC, The Eagles and Jimi Hendrix to name but a few.

Outdoor Theatre: The Wind in the Willows

What is it: Pack your picnics and join Ratty, Mole, Badger and Toad. Immersion Theatre bring style and energy with interaction, toe-tapping music and larger-than-life characters.

Brand New Summer Festival - Audley End

When: 19 July to 31 August, 9am to 5pm, last train leaves at 2pm

Where: Audley End Miniature Railway, Audley End, Saffron Walden, CB11 4JB

What is it: A miniature train journey through the woods. Enjoy fun activities at Woodland Station: face painting, building your own den, be silly with funky mirrors, dancing with DJ Melody plus more!

Cost: Adult ticket from £17.00 to £19.00. Child over 92cms ticket from £17.00 to £19.00, Child under 92cms £8.50 to £9.50. Child under 1 year old is free.

Reggae is a musical genre that originated from Jamaica and gained popularity in the 1960s. The genre was highly influenced by American jazz, ska, rocksteady and rhythm and blues. Usually, reggae music is off beat, has a slow tempo and is drum and bass heavy. Lyrics often were politicised and stressed the social and economic injustices in the world. The genre is often linked to Rastafarianism and has spread to countries across the world. Reggae spread to the UK in the 70s and influenced bands such as UB40, Steel Pulse and Aswad. Desmond Dekker, Bob Marley and the Wailers and UB40 are three of the most influential and successful reggae artists of all time. See below a little about each artist.
